“Speedy Spotter” Program Helps Save Lives
Every second counts in an emergency, and valuable time can be lost if your address number is not immediately clear to responders. Lacey Fire District 3 offers its “Speedy Spotter” program in an effort to solve the problem.
Speedy Spotter signs display an address with three-inch reflective numbers and are visible up to 300 feet away, day or night. The signs, attached to a metal post, are meant to be installed near driveways to allow emergency responders to quickly identify a home’s address.
Signs may be ordered from the Lacey Firefighters Charity committee and cost $36, which includes the metal post (or $30 for the sign only). All proceeds go directly toward community service activities. Volunteer committee members will install the signs within the district at no cost. Those unable to pay for signs due to financial limitations will not be turned away.
